Ways you can pick tonight's lotto winning numbers

Tips Allen Harnett

Are you still waiting to hit those life-changing rollover jackpots? Here are some few tips and strategies that can help you. There is 1 out of 2.3 million probability of getting those five winning numbers plus the bonus ball, likewise there is always 1 out of 55,000 chance of getting five of your selected numbers picked by the lotto machine, but the good news is that there are certain strategies that can help you narrow such odds and these include the following;

How does LottoSignals increase my chances to win the lottery?

LottoSignals helps you to make a reasoned decision on which lottery is the best to play at the moment. As a topping, we give you ‘Signals’ on the best odds of winning the biggest jackpots.

How do you detect the best ticket to buy?

We came up with the method to bring you the best tickets to buy online. It primarily benefits from our system that has scanned millions of lottery results during the past 10 years, from all over the world. We also take into consideration current ticket price, jackpot size, odds, and community feedback about a platform that provides a lottery. As a result, we get the vision of what is the best ticket to buy and where — and 'signal' you about them.

Are lottery winnings subject to taxation?

Mostly no. However, this does depend on which country you are in and the lottery you are playing. UK, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, for example, do not count lottery winnings as “taxable income”. At the same time, in the United States of America, the national lottery winnings are subjected to the Federal Tax and the Withholding tax respective of the player’s state of residence.
Usually, the US lotteries take 25% from the winnings to pay federal taxes. State withholding taxes vary and fluctuate from 0% (California, Delaware, Pennsylvania, plus the states with no Federal tax) to above 12 % in New York City. Sum up the Federal and the Withholding Tax, and you might end up with only half of your lump sum.
If non-US citizen wins, he/she will claim the prize in the same way as US residents would, but the withholding tax would be different. For instance, federal withholding for non-US citizens is a flat 30% in addition to state tax. Moreover, we strongly advise non-US citizens to check the rules covering withholding in their country of residence, as some of them may apply local taxes on the lottery winnings.

Can lottery winners remain anonymous?

More often the anonymity of lottery winners is a matter of personal choice. In most countries, like the UK and Australia, for example, you are given the option to remain anonymous or to “go public”. In the USA this varies depending upon the state you are residing in, and its own laws on public disclosure. When the PowerBall lottery is concerned, all prize payment records are open, meaning that the public has a right to request the information. The exception is 6 states - Delaware, Kansas, Maryland, North Dakota, Ohio and South Carolina - where the winner can remain anonymous.

How old do I have to be to play a lottery?

The age to play a lottery depends on the legislation of the country you’re in or the rules of the lottery if you're playing online across the borders. In most countries, however, the minimum age for taking part in the lottery is 18. For example, in the USA you have to be 18, 19 or 21 years of age (this depends on the state); in Canada and Australia you must be at least 18 years old. However, in the UK you are required to be just 16 years or over. And in New Zealand there is no age restriction to most types of lotto (although, for lotteries such as “Instant Kiwi” you’re required to be of 18 years of age).
